The Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere (PoSSUM) project is a suborbital research and education program. Project PoSSUM conducts citizen-science bioastronautics research including evaluations of Final Frontier Design spacesuits and associated technologies developed within the program. Project PoSSUM members work exclusively with Integrated Spaceflight Services to evaluate Final Frontier IVA Spacesuits through a multi-year research and evaluation program to evaluate spacesuit functionality, operational envelope, prototype suit/seat interface, seat ingress and egress operations, interface with biometric monitoring and communications systems, and CO2 washout tests.
Diving with a Purpose (DWP) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of submerged heritage resources by providing education, training, certification and field experience to adults and youth in the fields of maritime archaeology and ocean conservation. This unique focus of this initiative is the protection, documentation and interpretation of African slave trade shipwrecks and the maritime history and culture of African-Americans who formed a core of labor and expertise for America’s maritime enterprises.

The nonprofit Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants is designed to inspire the next generation of scientists and explorers. They do this by bringing STEAM professionals into classrooms as virtual guest speakers or to lead exciting virtual field trips. Since launching in September 2015, they’ve run well over 1,000 live events, connecting hundreds of thousands of students to scientists and explorers from over 60 countries. This event was initiated and hosted by Dr Sarah Jane Pell and co-pilot Dr. Tierney Thys and enthusiastically welcomed by the Tektite II Team. Web content includes reflection and reporting on the 50th Anniversary of Mission 6, and presentations by leading Sea and Space professionals on the most recent exploration, achievements and pressing issues today. Outcomes will help set the vision for the next 50-years commencing with a 10-day all-women undersea mission at Aquarius Reef Base in 2021. Attendees share in the celebrations, share in knowledge, new perspectives and tools to transform the ocean world for a better future!
